Wines Shaped by Altitude, Soil, and Family.

Cabernet Grown at 1,800 Feet

More than three decades ago, our family planted a vineyard on a rugged slope of the Howell Mountain Range, just below the Twin Sisters—the twin summits of the range’s highest peak. From this site, overlooking the Napa Valley at 1,800 feet, the vines grow in volcanic soils and endure sharp mountain climates that produce fruit of rare intensity and depth.

Lyons Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon is the result — bold, structured, and deeply expressive of its origin.

Why Elevation Matters

Set apart from the valley floor, our site experiences cooler nights, dramatic temperature swings, and later harvests. These natural conditions lead to slower ripening, deeper color, and layered expression—qualities that define mountain-grown Cabernet.
